Application
SP1-D series Type 3 Surge Arresters are suitable for TT, IT, TN-S, TN-C-S power supply system with AC 50/60Hz, 230/400V and below. Its design based on IEC6143-1, GB18802.1 and GB50057 standard requirements, can discharge 20KA lightning over current, normally installed at the incoming low voltage distribution board of buildings.
D type lightning current type 3 surge arresters are used as equipotential connection during lightning, and installed at junction area of LPZ1, LPZ2 and LPZn zone, normally installed at the front of distribution box of residence, computer center, information equipment, electronic equipment and control equipment or in the nearest socket box.

Lightning Protection Zone Definition And Classification
LPZOA:
Unprotected zone, every object in this zone may be directly struck by lightning; therefore every object is able to discharge all lightning current, there is no decline of electromagnetic field in this zone.
LPZOB:
Direct Lightning Protection Zone (Lightning rod protected building’s outer area), the objects in this area are impossible directly struck by lightning; there is no decline of electromagnetic field in this zone.
LPZ1:
Lightning Rod protected building’s internal area, the objects in this area are impossible directly struck by lightning, the current flow to each conductor is further reduced compared to OB zone, and the electromagnetic field may be also decline in this zone.
LPZN+1:
Follow-on Lightning Protection Zone, when needed to further reduce the current and electromagnetic field strength of the inflow, should add the follow-on lightning protection zone, and according to the requirements of the object that need to be protected, to select the required conditions for the follow-on lightning protection zone.
In the interface of the two lightning protection zone, all the metal objects across the interface have to make equipotential connection, and should take shielding treatment.
